Marta Edöcs is a glass artist who likes to experiment and playing with light.
After a scholarship for a training in art glass in the USA she started to work on architectural glass commissions. Beside the big scale works, she began to create unique wearable art objects. Her jewellery led to international recognition. She was invited to show her work worldwide at exhibitions and shows.
Marta is inspired by the built and natural environment, but also by her own memories. With her works she is capturing moments and thoughts, believing that her jewelry have positive influence on wearers and viewers.
"I capture moods, emotions, harmony, or moments of my life with my objects and jewellery. In most of my works I am combining glass with traditional silversmithing, or silver clay and once in a while I am using other materials. I am more interested in shapes, structures and messages in the pieces, than on the typical shiny surface of glass. I engrave, grind and etch my glass elements to have a matt or structured surface finish. For the same reason I love to keep the white oxidation layer on silver, or have a matt silver, gold, or black finish." - Marta Edöcs
